Swab Squad

The 24th Annual Webby Awards is excited to honor The Swab Squad with a 2020 Webby Special Achievement Award for serving their community as healthcare professionals during the coronavirus pandemic, while bringing joy to the Internet through their TJUH Instagram.

As the global impact of COVID-19 continues to set in, its rapid spread has left the world's most vulnerable communities with even less safety guards. From the sick, elderly, and immunocompromised, to those without shelter and unsafe homes, more people than ever are in need. In uncertain times, the Internet has become the lifeblood for people looking to support others, and find ways to keep them positive. This year, The Webby Awards is recognizing the everyday heroes who are rising to the task by using the Internet to organize, spread positivity, and make a difference in their communities. By sharing their dance to Ciara's "Level Up" across the Internet, the doctors and nurses at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital are lifting the spirits of many while working hard to take care of the sick.

For answering the call to serve during this crisis, and for spreading positivity and joy using the Internet, it is our great privilege to honor the Swab Squad with a Webby Special Achievement Award.
