The 24th Annual Webby Awards is delighted to honor D-Nice as the 2020 Webby Artist of the Year to recognize his creation of Home School at #ClubQuarantine, his free DJ sets on Instagram Live, to help people dance, and have fun amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
As we collectively navigate the severe impact of COVID-19 on the world and social distancing, the Internet has become the lifeblood for people looking to connect, and escape the uncertainty of current times. Since spinning his first Club Quarantine set for nine hours, D-Nice's livestream has become the star-studded, virtual "place-to-be," where over 150,000 viewers can let go of fear and uncertainty and lean into pure joy and healing. Moreover, by using his platform to give voice to causes like Michelle Obama's "When We All Vote," D-Nice demonstrates his belief in the Internet as the perfect tool to engage people's hearts while pushing for political participation.
For his incredible positivity, and use of digital platforms to create a community of people who are letting loose and getting free, while staying at home, it is our privilege to honor D-Nice as the 2020 Webby Artist of the Year.
